Having problems seeing Mapped and Network Folders in the Browse for Folder

If you are having problems seeing your Network or Mapped drives in the Folder Browser here are a few things that may resolve the issue (try them in order - close MobicleanPro when doing these.):
  1. Try First: Locate the MobicleanPro.exe file in the folder you installed Mobiclean to (usually C:Program Files (x86)mobicleanpro) then right click the mobicleanPro.exe file and select the Compatibility Tab and then select Run in Compatibility Mode for Windows XP Service Pack 3 and Run as Administrator as shown below and click Apply:

If you are running MobicleanPro V10.1.8 do the same for mobicleanbackup.exe.
Then Run MobicleanPro and see if the mapped and network drives are now displayed in the Browse for Folder box.

  1. Second Item to Try: The following requires modifying the registry WARNING! Incorrect entries in your computer registry can render your PC in-operative, so only do this if you know what you are doing.

1. Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.

2. Locate and then right-click the following registry subkey:  HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesSystem

3. Point to New, and then click DWORD Value.

4. Type EnableLinkedConnections, and then press ENTER.

5. Right-click EnableLinkedConnections, and then click Modify.

6. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.

7. Exit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

  1. Third Item to Try:
Left click "Start" and left click the "Settings".
Left click "Update and Security" and left click "Windows Security"
In the Windows Security window, left click "Virus & threat protection"
At the bottom of the virus & threat protection window, left click on "manage settings"
In the Manage Settings window, scroll down to "Controlled folder access" and left click "Manage Controlled Folder Access"
Left click on "Allow an app through Controlled Folder Access"
Click on "Yes" on the window that asks "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device"
In the new window that opens, left click on the "+ Add an allowed app"
Left click on "Browse all apps" and search for and left click on "mobicleanPro.exe"
Exit Windows security and reboot.

Fully Compacting HTML and PHP

Posted by: Admin on 18th March 2020 04:41:09.
Posted in Category: Using Mobiclean Pro

An issue has been identified when using the fully compact HTML with some 3rd party mail and other scripts (not those from RichoSoft), they place their scripts in the root folder (not good practice). When Mobiclean cleans these, because of code issues, the compacting stops the code executing. This is due to comments in the files and incorrectly terminated if statements.

So I advise not to use the Fully Compact on PHP files whilst I build solution to this issue.

A new version of Mobiclean will be released on the auto-update when it is available, so in the meantime, do not use fully compact on PHP files. Your settings should therefore look like this in the PRO Options page:

The Tidy Only option should work correctly with PHP pages.

However there is one other issue with Witsec's mail.php file, in as much that it has some code that matches the string used to update the HTML tag and text is not enclosed in apostrophes (') but in quotes ("), this causes a conflict when adding language tags via the options on the PRO Options page and as this mail.php file is in the root folder it gets processed with normal pages:

So if using Witsec's mail form I suggest the following workaround whilst I develop a solution for this:
  • Process your clean as usual in Mobiclean.
  • Following the clean, copy the original mail.php in your Mobirise published folder into your Processed folder and then upload your files as normal.
  • The mail form should then work correctly.

If you want to use the UserWay Accessibility Widget on one or more or all pages in your site simply and efficiently you can do it in Mobiclean Pro very easily.

First of all sign up for your UserWay Widget and they will give you some code.

Then in MobicleanPro select the Add to Head/Body option and simply paste the code you were given by UserWay into the top box and check the box on the left as shown below:

If you have some pages that you do NOT want the widget to appear on, simply check the pages on the right. Then Click OK.
Now every time you process your site the widget will automatically be added to all the pages required.

Suggested Folder Structure To Use

Posted by: Admin on 28th December 2019 04:30:45.
Posted in Category: Using Mobiclean Pro

Below is detailed my suggested folder structure to use with Mobiclean Pro.
It works well for me and prevents some errors and issues.
Suggested File Structure
Some Tips and Best Practices:
  • Use Folder Names without spaces and special characters
  • Use File Names without spaces and special characters
  • Keep file and folder names as short as possible (up to 20 characters for folder names and up to 100 characters for file names)
  • Use hyphens (-) instead of spaces or underscores(_). Google Bots do not like spaces or underscores and may not index them or at least will penalise your ranking. Google Bots DO like hyphens and will create keywords from file names with hyphens between words.
  • Always use the OutPut All Files, and Output to a different folder (e.g. ProcessedFiles) options on the Additional Options page in Mobiclean.
  • Using the above will put all files you need to upload online in the Processed/Output Folder.
